The word has it that a church father decided to preach one or two items about gays and lesbians but ended up facing nose to nose with the congregation with was 100% Zimbos.
In short he told them how Gs & Ls are ruining the their kids/society. This did not go down well with the Zimbos who in no uncertain terms highlighted that the Gs & Ls are helping them get by in life and he should have beat about the bush rather than hit the nail on the head.
" (Ha-a-a ngaasadaro mhani uyu... maGays and Lesbians ari kutibatsira sitereki, zvino vakazvinzwa vachatii manje... arikutikanyira nxa! ) He (preacher) must not do that... the Gays and Lesbians are helping us a lot, What will happen if they hear about it. He is spoiling our life.
It is not part of Zimbos' life style to be Gays and Lesbians, well at least in public. However being out there in NZ where it is normal, coming out of the closet is encouraged. |

To the Zimbo christians at the service it was a total shock. Zimbabwean christians are more of traditional-conservative christians. They give very little room for 'moral experiments' like Hip-hop/Rock music in church, the type of dressing women put on in public...Let alone Gs & Ls activities. ...but then they are not in Zimbabwe, welcome to a free land. |
